The Hall dates back to the 1800’s when it was originally a reading room.
In 1926 Benjamin Thompson, owner of Skidby Mill, called a meeting creating the Skidby Village Hall & Management Committee. He then presented this Committee with the gift of the land he had purchased behind the reading room, for the sole purpose of building a Hall for social events and functions for all Villagers to use.
The village hall continues to be managed by a small group of volunteer committee members, relying on fund raising and booking fees to maintain the upkeep of the hall..
